Life is hard in kashmir. Even harder as a doc. Everyday I work under limited resources not even meeting the minimum standards. But I can't help it. Any step to change the setup is met with a resistance so hard that is nerve breaking even to think about it now. Even literate people ( for one cant call them educated) have orthodox thinkings here.
I have been in anesthesia here for a long time now. The HOD is an honest guy (very rare to find here). And he won't listen to anyone. But then he has limited resources as well.
I wish I could do something for the ill infants here. The govt. hospital has only one ventilator, so old that the residents are afraid to touch the buttons.
If ever I have money in life I will setup a charitable NICU for the people here. With such a dream I sleep to night...
